5 Vintage Cars That Won’t Drain Your Savings

Beautiful designs that would just not be possible on the computer-based design software used by modern car designer, a system designed with feel and character, and of course the nostalgia that comes with is most definitely the reason why vintage cars still appeals to many people.

However, because of the notion that to be able to own a classic car you have to be very rich is making average-earners shy away from them. What many may fail to realize is that there are some classic cars that can be surprisingly affordable despite of being historic, iconic, or otherwise famous.

1. 1927-31 Ford Model A
1927-31 Ford Model A
This is the vehicle that began America’s love affair with the automobile. It  is still considered the king of the road not only because of how it can get plenty of looks on the road but also because of it’s  incredible power that allows light and quick driving. What even more surprising is that, despite its popularity, it remains to be fairly affordable up until today.

2. 1967-69 Pontiac Firebird

For a classic car that remained in the shadow of its Chevy brother Camaro, you’d think that it would have been totally forgotten the GM bankruptcy. However, nowadays, it has surprisingly gained the attention that it deserved but didn’t get during the old days. Probably because of its amazing performance that doesn’t come with a high price tag.

3. 1936 Cord 810 Beverly
1936 Cord 810 Beverly
The fact that this vintage car was launched way back in 1960’s, though actually first introduced in the 30’s, has a front-wheel drive, a supercharged V-8, chrome-plated side-exhaust pipes, hidden headlights, and a disappearing convertible top makes it the coolest car you never knew existed, hands down! But wait, there’s more, Cord sedans can still be found for under $50,000! How cool is that?!

Looks, handling, acceleration (at higher speeds), braking are definitely the Porsche 944 strong attributes that managed to save Porsche’s troubles for 19 years. Problems is, while you may be able to get your hands on this vehicle for under 10 grand, maintaining it may cost way more. So to avoid an even bigger cost, you’d be smart to not ignore even the smallest sign of damage if you don’t want to spend a lot on car repair for major car issues.

5. 1980-81 DeLorean DMC-12
1980-81 DeLorean DMC-12
With this car, you’d think you’re traveling back in time, not only because it will always remind us that it was the most ambitious attempt at running-before-walking ever seen in the variegated history of the auto industry but also because it seems like the price tag was never touched all this time. The price of a decent DeLorean seems to never be far from where it has been for years – the $20,000-$30,000 range.
